For the evacuation of patients from any commercial building, we can use either a powered stairs evacuation device, which is used on wide-open stair-sets, this device is capable to hold up to 500lbs, was person evacuated is carried on a wheelchair, positioned on top of the device's ramp and safely taken down/upstairs.
We can also use a stair evacuation track device, without a ramp, when stairs are not wide enough for the above to be maneuvered.
Lastly, we can use a manual stair track evacuation device, where the patient is positioned and carried on the device itself, the device could hold up to 250lbs and can only go downstairs.
This is used for evacuation where there has been a fire alarm activated or any other emergency situation, where the is no way a wheelchair will on stairs or there's no wheelchair available.
Note: We will never use Gurney's to go up or downstairs that go over 3 steps or there are more than 35 degrees inclined set of stairs. We can use stretchers with a minimum of 4 assistants for any transfer of this kind. Passengers and assistants' safety is our priority... We will not proceed to do transportation if is not safe to do so.
